Kit & Steel is a trusted, censorship-free online marketplace built specifically for buyers and sellers of tactical gear, gun accessories, and EDC (everyday carry) equipment. We provide a safe, secure platform where enthusiasts can transact with confidence — without the risk of being shut down by platforms that don’t support our community.
Who can use Kit & Steel?
Anyone who is of legal age to purchase firearms and firearms accessories in their state or jurisdiction. Buyers can browse and purchase immediately after creating a free account. Sellers must register as a vendor and may be subject to verification before their listings go live.
Is Kit & Steel free to use?
Yes. Creating a buyer or seller account is completely free. There are no monthly fees, no listing fees, and no hidden charges. Kit & Steel only charges a 5% transaction fee on completed sales — you only pay when you sell.
What is allowed to be sold on Kit & Steel?
Kit & Steel is designed for tactical gear, gun accessories, and EDC equipment. This includes items such as holsters, magazines, optics, lights, slings, plate carriers, pouches, knives, flashlights, apparel, and similar lawful accessories. All listings must comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws. Items that are illegal under federal law — such as unregistered NFA items, illegal suppressors, or prohibited weapons — are not permitted. Kit & Steel reserves the right to remove any listing that violates our Terms of Service.
Are actual firearms sold on Kit & Steel?
At this time, Kit & Steel focuses on gun accessories, tactical gear, and EDC equipment rather than complete firearms. This allows us to serve our community on a broader range of payment platforms. We may expand to include serialized firearms in the future with appropriate FFL transfer requirements in place.

How do I buy something?
Browse the shop or search by category. When you find an item you want, add it to your cart and proceed to checkout. You’ll be guided through the payment process using GunTab, our secure payment processor built specifically for the firearms community.
How does payment work?
Kit & Steel uses GunTab as our payment processor. GunTab is a purpose-built payment platform for the firearms and tactical gear industry. When you check out, your payment is held securely in escrow until you confirm the item has been received as described. This protects you as a buyer from fraud or misrepresented items.
Is my payment protected as a buyer?
Yes. GunTab’s escrow system means your money is not released to the seller until you confirm receipt and satisfaction. If there’s a problem with your order, you have the opportunity to dispute it before funds are released. This is one of the key advantages of shopping on Kit & Steel versus peer-to-peer platforms with no buyer protection.
What if my item arrives damaged or not as described?
If an item arrives damaged or significantly not as described, do not confirm delivery in GunTab. Contact us at the contact page with photos and a description of the issue. We will work with you and the seller to resolve the dispute. GunTab’s escrow system ensures your payment is protected during this process.
How long does shipping take?
Shipping times depend on the individual seller. Each seller sets their own handling time and shipping method. Estimated shipping times are listed on each product page. If you have questions about a specific order, you can message the seller directly through your account dashboard.
Selling on Kit & Steel
How do I become a seller?
Visit our Sell on Kit & Steel page and register for a free vendor account. Once your account is set up and approved, you can start creating listings right away from your seller dashboard.
What does it cost to sell?
Selling on Kit & Steel is free to start. There are no listing fees, no monthly subscriptions, and no penalty fees. Kit & Steel charges a flat 5% commission on completed sales only. That’s it. You only pay when you make money.
How and when do I get paid?
Payments are processed through GunTab. Once a buyer confirms receipt of their order, the funds — minus the 5% Kit & Steel commission — are released to your GunTab account. You can then withdraw to your bank account according to GunTab’s payout schedule. For detailed payout information, refer to GunTab’s documentation.
Can I sell used gear?
Yes! Used gear in good condition is welcome on Kit & Steel. Be honest and thorough in your listing description and photos. Clearly disclose any wear, defects, or modifications. Accurate listings build your reputation as a trusted seller and reduce the chance of disputes.
What are Verified Seller badges?
Verified Seller badges are awarded to sellers who have passed an additional identity or reputation verification process. Look for the checkmark badge on a seller’s profile. Buying from a verified seller gives you added confidence that you’re dealing with a legitimate, accountable member of the community.
What happens if a buyer disputes my sale?
If a buyer opens a dispute, the transaction funds remain in escrow with GunTab while the issue is reviewed. Kit & Steel will review the evidence from both sides. Sellers who accurately describe their items and ship promptly rarely encounter disputes. We’re here to support both buyers and sellers throughout the process.

How do I create an account?
Click the account icon in the top navigation bar or visit the Sell on Kit & Steel page to register as a vendor. Buyer accounts can be created at checkout or via the account icon. Registration is free and takes less than a minute.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Click the account icon in the navigation bar and select “Lost your password?” on the login screen. Enter your email address and we’ll send you a password reset link.
How do I contact Kit & Steel support?
You can reach us anytime through our Contact page. We respond to all inquiries within 1–2 business days. For urgent order issues involving funds held in escrow, please include your order number in your message.
Shipping
What is Kit & Steel’s shipping policy?
Kit & Steel is a peer-to-peer marketplace — all items ship directly from individual sellers to buyers. Kit & Steel does not handle, warehouse, or ship any products. Sellers are solely responsible for packaging, shipping, carrier selection, tracking, and legal compliance with all applicable laws. Who is responsible if my item is lost or arrives damaged?
Responsibility for shipping issues lies between the buyer, the seller, and the shipping carrier. Kit & Steel is not liable for shipping losses or damages. If your item arrives damaged or doesn’t show up, document the issue with photos, contact the seller directly through your dashboard, and do not confirm delivery in GunTab until the issue is resolved.
